Development of all regions need of the hour

Update: 2019-09-01 02:00 IST

You are right in concluding that Amaravati need not be a megapolis from the inception and that it could be a functional capital. (Editorial dated August 31). Yes, in these days of online administration, physical location of all the offices in one place, say capital, has not much of significance.

The need of the hour is dispersal of administration for balanced growth of all the regions. By whatever name you call them either four State capitals or something else, concentration should be on equitable distribution of fruits of the development to the people of all the regions.

There cannot be two opinions that Rayalaseema is the most neglected region for generations. It should get its due share in the prosperity now. Any tinkering with their rightful share would only be a last straw on the camels' back.

Unless their interests are safeguarded without any further delay, the day would not be far off for the people revolting demanding a separate State for themselves.

If the people in power refuse to see this writing on the wall they should remember that it will be only in their own peril.
