Muddle-headed Marxists
The CPM in Kerala, after a review of its dismal performance in the elections to the 17th Lok Sabha, came to the conclusion that its rout was due to its incorrect attitude on the entry of women into Sabarimala temple, an attitude which outraged the sentiments of a vast majority of Hindu devotees.
It is a persistent characteristic of the communists that on every important issue concerning Hindus and India, they go against the people's interests and sentiments and later on confess that they committed a historic blunder. Support to Muslim League for division of this country, denouncing Subhash Chandra Bose as a running dog of Japanese imperialism, the CPI's support to Indira Gandhi's Emergency rule , rejection of the offer of Prime Ministership to Jyoti Basu and now the Sabarimala affair are instances of continuing anti-people stand in the present and later characterizing those attitudes as historic blunders.
Their commitment to the 1848 vintage Marxism makes them totally insensitive to the changes that have been occurring in the society . Their fundamentalist Marxism trumps the reality of changes happening in enlightened capitalism and multi-party democracies.
