Tollywood meet, a sham

The Telugu film bigwigs meeting YCP leadership seems to be a big flimflam only to dupe the cine workers in the guise of obtaining permission from the govt for film shooting and for allotment of lands for Tollywood in Vizag.....

At the same time the concerned authorities shouldn't be in a haste to allot lands as it may give room to many a suspicion like hoodwinking the people's attention from the issues that are racking the State...

Another frivolity is smelt in this connection. Tollywood itself can aid the workers already in hardship and provide great alleviation, instead of making them further suffer from the virus threat.

Can any one guess how a shooting will take place with the hero, heroine, other characters acting with masks on their faces ? .This all appears to be a strange spoof only to con the public...not a difficult task for actors. Quite different from those times of NTR, ANR.

I still wonder why a non-controversial director like Rajamouli joined this team...

Horrifying news

The news that a 17-year-old boy (who belongs to the Dalit community) was killed for praying at a temple is extremely horrifying.

We Indians feel proud and expose the fact about the rich cultural diversity of India to the entire world. But what use and importance is that diversity of, when it is not respected among our own men!

The amazing and various cultural fabrics in India can have their true meaning only when they are accepted and respected primarily amongst our people.

More than 70 years of the birth of Article 17 (Abolition of Untouchability), the country should not afford any more caste-based killings.

Impulsive move by KCR

The decision of Telangana government to promote SSC students to intermediate by skipping examinations appears to be impulsive.

Further, awarding grades to students based on only internal assessment is also not an appropriate method because there is a possibility of some ineligible students getting a higher grade which may cause heart-burn among meritorious students.

Thus the government sudden conclusion to en masse promote SSC students this year to intermediate without examinations on the assumption that there is remote possibility of holding examinations in the near future is hypothetical.

Even when there is still time to give a deep thought, the sudden departure from the established practice of holding class X board exams to test the ability of students in all subjects is not wise, the calculated risk taken by the government may likely to tempt intermediate students to demand similar automatic promotion to the higher class without examinations thereby placing the government in a dilemma.

Therefore, automatic promotion without board exams even during crisis like the one the nation is facing now is incorrect because it would set a wrong precedent in future.

Before it is too late, it is advisable that government rescinds its decision immediately in the larger interest of students as the results in school final board exams is a yardstick for a student to seek admissions in reputed colleges across the country.
