Opposition parties played politics even during all-party meet

Paying tributes to martyrs

It refers to all-party meeting called by Prime Minister on June 19 wherein Congress President is said to have asked Prime Minister to share all the details on Indian soldiers being killed by Chinese army. Earlier former Congress President had doubted that Indian army was unarmed during the incident for which Indian Foreign Minister reminded of the Indo-China agreement signed in UPA regime whereby fire-arms could not be used on armies of two countries being face-to-face with each other. It is childish even to imagine that army on borders can be without arms. Even RTI Act legislated during UPA regime under section 8(1)(a) of RTI Act does not allow making information relating to security and strategic aspects public.

It was surprising that CPI (M) representative in the meeting echoed stand like that of 1962-war with China by suggesting to follow principles of Panchsheel, with a country who killed persons of Indian army with non-traditional weapons. CPI representative responded according to party-ideology that India needs to resist US efforts to drag India into their alliance. It was time that instead of echoing their ideological stands, both these parties would have reacted only on China making informal attack on Indian army-persons like was done by rest other opposition parties joining the meeting. At least on defence-matters, all opposition parties should solidly back Prime Minister like is done in Israel where bitterness between political parties is even more than that in India thus making the small nation becoming the most strategic and strong nation of the world.

Paying tributes to martyrs

The loss of scores of lives of youthful Indian Army soldiers in Ladakh's Galwan Valley scuffle with Chinese is very painful. Families will never be able to reconcile the loss, no matter, post martyrdom, how much rewards and money we may bestow on martyrs kin. In order that our posterity values the sacrifices of such war martyrs and their families by being grateful, we need to do more to perpetuate their memory. I suggest;

Firstly, let the Deputy Commissioner's portal of each district have a link from where all martyrs details of that district –viz their villages/place of birth and their unit, regiment details and decoration details etc be given to reckon by the citizens. From this link details about martyrs from the official portal will help the donors/NGOs to reach out to their families too.

Secondly, the other best way to remember our martyrs is to institute scholarships in their names to be given periodically in schools and colleges in their respective home district to those students who excel in NCC activities and other such pursuits of bravery depicted by the students. This will also encourage youth to join forces.NCC training will be incentivized too.

Thirdly, Governments, both at the centre and States must pass legislations to give free education including free books and examination fees etc to children and immediate kin of war martyrs. There should be no limiting factor to the education ladder and the Govt. should support till the completion of career. There should be a priority quota for admission of wards of martyrs.

Fourthly, It has been often seen that monetary compensation given to the youthful martyrs spouses, who have no children or were recently married, their spouse leave the family of martyr to remarry. Thus, the aged parents of martyrs remain neglected and frustrated. No one is there to care for them thereafter. There should be a provision of regular free medical aid/hospital treatment for such aged parents of martyrs. Most of the youthful martyrs are from poor families. Their parents must get a regular governmental pension to support them.

Fifthly, although it is customary to honor martyrs' families on Independence day and Republic day, giving them souvenirs of shawls etc. ,but this is too little, this can be revised for their better honoring .

War times or peace times, the families of youth who are on the borders always remain in prayerful mode for their safety. Let we frame a clear and concrete mechanism to help such families of war martyrs so that they can have easyand fruitful contact with the administration in case of need.

The cruelty of Chinese soldiers

Colonel Santosh Babu at Line of Actual Control is condemned by everyone. He is praised as a brave son of India. So far so good. The amount of Rs. Five crores offered by Telangana state is a very huge figure. Monthly bank interest works out to more than three lakhs per month which is three times more than monthly pension of a colonel's rank as on this day. This bounty is in addition to free land and group-1 job. Central government is yet to announce it's offers. This may give a thinking to the present generation to join in defence force and get killed in war so that their kin will be sound financially for generations with the flow of offers.

The recent resolve taken by the Indian government to totally boycott the sale and purchase of chinese goods/products in the market is no doubt highly warranted. This development is a sequel to the chinese policy of indulging in border skirmishes at the LAC which has not only resulted in the killing of 20 Indian soldiers but has also snowballed into a border conflict and an issue that might lead into a full-fledged Indo-China war of the ilk of one fought in the year 1962.

It is unfortunate that while India is hell bent on fighting with the health war of corona , it had to face a challenge of fighting a war with China at the borders. So far India is engaged in fighting the Covid-19 war at the expense of a major part of its resources. This health war has been successful due to the support of all sections of the people , despite the relaxations during the lockdown have led to some praise as well as criticism, due to the number of +ve cases have been increasing alarmingly day by day in the country.

There has been no proper understanding and amity between the ruling and the opposition party governments even during the critical times of corona taking its lead on the people. During the peak days of corona showing its influence on the virus affected people , the doctors as the saviours have raised their hands in despair as allopathic medicines to cure this particular disease are unavailable except for cold and malaria which could not serve the real purpose of tackling covid.

Hence, the alternative measures in Ayurvedic and Homeopathic systems too were not too effective to use for the possible cure.

China has been discredited for its overt or covert role in the outbreak and spread of this novel coronavirus which the former had adopted to weaken the world economic system Since, China has failed in its attempt to despoil the world economic system, it has alternatively embarked on another misdeed to attack India at the borders by raising curtains on the pretext of Indo-China war.

Thus China has declared a proxy war with India which in the event of becoming a full-fledged war would cost heavily / irreparable loss to India. It is a monumental blunder on the part of China to cause an economic burden vis-a-vis a war against . There is every need to teach a lesson to China for such of their folly of waging a war against the peace-loving India especially during and post corona period.

The Indian government is justified in unilaterally deciding to boycott the sale and purchase of chinese goods in India, which ultimately results in hitting back at the trade and economy of China that it cannot anymore mobilise resources to devise plans to attack India with all its might as well as mite.

Hence, there is every need for the people of the Indian democracy to resolve themselves and support the government in totally boycotting the chinese products in the Indian market.
