Political witch-hunt

Update: 2019-09-29 01:35 IST

The spree of cases by various investigating agencies against opposition leaders, the latest being one against Sharad Pawar by ED just before his state going to polls, is intriguing.

Though there is no wrong in going after accused according to law, it is unfair to apply the rule selectively according to the whims and fancies of ruling party.

The exclusivity factor or the thing of selective honesty in dealing with cases is more dangerous for democracy.

The investigating agencies cannot afford to be perceived as intimidating agencies in the hands of rulers, for the well-being of democracy.
