Provide proper food and shelter to the poor
The recent pandemic has led to a tremendous and fierce battle between coronavirus and humans. This tiny little organism has taken away so many lives. Not just lives, but it also slowed down our economy and took away our freedom.
Even though not affected by the virus, the people who suffered most are the economically weaker sections of the society. Other economically stable groups can cope up with this situation but the vulnerable groups are left to their fate. The government should intervene and take care of them. For instance, the daily wage workers have no other source of income, except for their daily hard labour. All the activities have been stopped and hence there's no income for these people. So the government should take this matter seriously and help them with proper food and shelter. Another issue to be taken care of is about the hospital out-patient services. Patients with chronic diseases like diabetes, cancer, heart problems etc. and emergency patients require hospital and its equipment to deal with their problems. But all this is not possible due to suspended OPDs. Even though telemedicine services are available they are not equal to the actual human services. In my opinion, the Covid-19 hospitals should have suspended OPDs. But other hospitals can open their OPDs with full social distancing and limited patients per day. Undoubtedly, our government has taken an incredible step by starting the lockdown and we actually achieved our goal in controlling the spread of virus. But this lock-down can't last forever. We need to resume our economic activities and at the same time we need to practice social distancing and protect ourselves from this fast spreading virus.
