Ryots need to be treated better

Once again Telangana State hit the headlines of both print and electronic media as the Nizambad Parliament Constituency has received 242 nominations which is the highest in the country for the present general elections whereas Varanasi in UP received 111 nominations from which Naredra Modi is contesting for the second time.

Though all of them are not serious contestants , most of them are farmers who submitted their nomination papers after duly paying Rs 25000 as caution deposit which they collected from their friends and co- farmers.

Indeed it is very difficult to pool Rs 25000 for an average farmer, but they did so to protest against the government indifferent attitude to their basic problems. As a result of it every year 12000 farmers are committing suicide across the nation.

The governments did not respond farmers protests positively when the farmers of Tamil Nadu organised various protests in the national capital or the farmers of Maharashtra organised walkathon from Nashik to Mumbai to high light their concerns.

Even farmers of TS at Nizamabad organised dharnas for remunerative prices for turmeric and red jowhar.
