What techies want from Union Budget?

As the Union government intensified its preparation to present the budget 2020-2021 on February 1, IT professionals in the State have come forward to demand redressal of their grievances by earmarking sufficient funds in the new budget outlay

"Work from home culture that has been necessitated by the Covid-19 pandemic, employees incur higher work-related personal expenditure like - high internet bandwidth, electricity, food, maids, etc. Hence, it would be good to increase the standard deduction from Rs 50,000 to 1 lakh,"

"I request Central government to increase the slab to the salaried employee as this Covid-19 pandemic has hit them very badly, as many people have lost their jobs and are struggling to cope up with their daily needs,"

Sai Teja, Hyderabad

IT professionals have been receiving their take home salary after taxes getting deducted, again they are paying taxes for the goods they purchase. We are paying double taxes, hence IT professionals should be given some special slabs.

Vinay Vangala, IT professional.

"As inflation rate is still high, there should be an additional tax rebate to salaried class what is given today like standard deduction should be more, more investments should be allowed than what is been given today, tax slabs should be increased and for home loan under Sec 24, should be increased from 2L to 3L, so that IT sector employees can do more tax savings.

Abhijeet Sinha, Hyderabad.

The Union budget should focus on salaried employees. It's high time that the Central government raise the income tax exemption limit so that people could heave a sigh of relief. Reduction in corporate tax would help IT growth, which would lead to employment creation in the long run. The budget should give incentives to the companies that expand the IT industry to Tier II cities.

The coronavirus pandemic has worsened the economy of all the countries. India is no exception. As a result, many people have lost their jobs. The global health calamity has forced IT companies to cut down on their budgets to save costs. Against this backdrop, the Centre should step in and lend a helping hand for the survival of the IT industry.

Srinivas Shiga, Software Engineer, Warangal

"I think this budget will be as balanced as possible. BJP will be very cautious and takes all the needed measures while allocating the budget as the government is being observed by the public and Opposition. I am expecting that Agriculture, Health, IT, Logistics, Civil aviation, Textiles, Housing and real estate might also be given wings in this budget,"

K Hanisha, Head of Department, Image group

"Now, this budget is very special because in the previous year the economy was stable. Announced Rs 20 lakh crore will not help the nation to survive the pandemic but there is a need for the Indian government to control the prices of goods and commodities taking the middle-class groups into consideration and to survive the pandemic, government should not impose tax at least this year,"

Sathya Pamula, Vice President, Integral Advisories

The amount of tax delivered given now is good, maybe it is not visible to the eye because it is in a fixed way like giving house loans, but we would prefer more exemption. We need to bring more people into tax, there are a lot of markets who don't give bills like begum bazaar, they write it on paper. No tax is collected and those markets file less compared to the business they make
