Delhi MPs pat Northern Railway

New Delhi: TP Singh, General Manager, Northern Railway, held a meeting with the Members of Parliament of constituencies that come under the jurisdiction of Delhi Divisions in New Delhi on Wednesday.

This is in accordance with the directives given by Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, advising General Managers of Zonal Railways to increase public outreach to get feedback for providing better service to the nation. Railway-related issues in each constituency falling under Northern Railway were discussed with the public representatives to find solutions for the benefit of the passengers.

The GM briefed MPs about the various developmental activities and new initiatives taken up by Northern Railway within the jurisdiction of Delhi division. Divisional Railway Manager, Delhi Division, SC Jain, presented a report regarding the completed, ongoing and planned works relating to passenger amenities, infrastructure and services at stations and trains over the division. Senior officers of Northern Railway and Delhi division also participated in the meeting.

Dr Sanjeev Kumar Balyan, Minister of State of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, General (Retd.) VK Singh, Minister of State, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and MPs Lok Sabha, Meenakshi Lekhi, Ramesh Bidhuri Hans Raj Hans, Manoj Tiwary, Sanjay Bhatiya, Satyapal Singh, Ramesh Chander Kaushik, Sunita Duggal, Nayab Singh, Haji Fajlur Rehman, Birender Singh, Balwinder Singh Bhunder, Ram Kumar Kashyap, and N.D Gupta expressed their views in the meeting.

The MPs appreciated the good work done by Northern Railway in the past five years in their constituencies. They also put forward various demands, requirements and aspirations of the rail users of their respected areas. They exhorted NR to complete the infrastructure and public convenience related projects on top priority. They also volunteered to help wherever there was any co-ordination required with the state administration for timely completion of the projects.

TP Singh assured the Members of Parliament that Northern Railway would resolve the public grievances and issues put forward by them as early as possible. He further said that Northern Railway would always remain committed in the service of the passengers and rail users.
