2 habitual offenders held under PD Act

Cyberabad: The Cyberabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar on Sunday detained two property offenders under PD Act. According to police, both the accused from Madhapur – Mohammed Yousuf 28, a car driver, residing at Parvath Nagar, and D Balakrishna, 20, a mason – were alcoholic and led a lavish life.  

In order to meet their lavish expenses, they committed property offences such as robberies, extortion etc and were also involved in three grave and dangerous offences during the period from June 2018 to March 2019.

In the intervening night of 25/26 June '18, the two offenders along with two other accused were loitering in Madhapur when they saw some women in a high-ended car near a car showroom. They deflated all the four tyres of the vehicle and made lust gestures outraging the modesty of the car inmates, they quarreled with another inmate of the car and robbed Rs 2,000 from them.

Meantime, when a passerby intervened to stop the nuisance, they threatened him and robbed a gold chain from him also and fled away from the spot. Further, on November 26, 2018 at night hours they targeted a person who was going alone on foot in Madhapur, beat him up and robbed Rs 1,350 from him and fled away.

Later, on December 4, they targeted another pedestrian at Cyber towers and robbed his cell phone by beating him up. On December 6, 2018, the accused were arrested, and cases were registered against them and later remanded to judicial custody. Later, the accused Yousuf after getting released from jail attempted to commit burglary in a house located in Mothinagar in Erragadda on March 26 he.

A case was registered against him and he was arrested and remanded to judicial custody again. To maintain the public order the Cyberabad Police Commissioner detained them under PD Act to prevent them from committing further such offences.
