Patancheru: Assistant Planning Officer at Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) Prasad has warned that stringent action would be taken against those who start real-estate ventures without taking permission from the authority.

Several illegal constructions in real-estate ventures in Muthangi and Isnapur villages that do not have permissions from HMDA were demolished on Saturday. Prasad said that 24 ventures in Isnapur, Chitkul, Muthangi and Indresam villages of Patancheru mandal have been identified as illegal and notices were served to the owners of eight ventures and seven commercial constructions.

He said that HMDA permissions are essential for real estate ventures and the permissions given by village secretaries cannot be deemed as valid. Prasad said that stringent action would be taken against Panchayat secretaries who are giving permissions to real-estate ventures.

The process of clearing applications would be speeded up, he said. Prasad said that HMDA is also focusing on commercial ventures that have not sought permission from the authority. He urged consumers to purchase flats from only the ventures that have HMDA permissions.
