2.83 cr cash seized

L.B Nagar: Nodal Officer of Expenditure Monitoring J Narasimham and his team conducted a check on all two, three and four wheeler vehicles at the CM Road in Lingojiguda division. Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Narasimham said their team was working round-the-clock according to the instructions given. A regular inspection is also being conducted, he added.

"We are stopping all the vehicles and checking them thoroughly to prevent the movement of cash and liquor as it is election time. Totally in the East Zone, 3 FST groups and 3 SST groups are conducting checks round the clock. Until now, cash worth Rs 2.83 crore was found in Chaitanyapuri PS division, it was seized and sent to the Income Tax Department. Rest of the procedure will be done by them" says Gopinath, FST.

Assistant Expenditure Observer Sharada, Saroornagar P S ASI Yaladri, constables Shankar, Srinivas and Shekar were present on the occasion.
