2BHK colonies to be made eco-friendly
Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner M Dana Kishore said that the 15,600 double bedroom house colony under construction in Kollur in Ramchandrapuram Circle will be eco-friendly double bedroom colonies along with the other under construction houses in the city. The government is spending Rs 1,354.59 crore pm double bedroom houses, infrastructure in an area of 124 acres.
Dana Kishore said that a special committee would be set up with the officials of JHMC, HMWSSB, Environment Protection Training and Research Institute (EPTRI), Urban Biodiversity, Renewable Energy and other concern departments to propose steps to turn the 2BHK colonies as eco-friendly colonies.
Facilities for zero garbage production, STPs, gardening and initiatives will be undertaken for continuous maintenance of the colonies. Rs 616 crore has been planned for the creation of drinking water, STPs, electricity, internal roads, fire services and education in the colonies.
An amount of Rs 3,230 crore of a total of Rs 8,598 crore has so far been received from Housing Development Authority for the construction of double bedroom houses in Greater Hyderabad. At present, only Rs 150 crore would be made to pay the bills. Officials told the Commissioner that already, 97,915 double bedroom houses were being built in 114 areas.
