3-day IT handloom mela opens in hyderabad city
Hyderabad: The Telangana Facilities Management Council (TFMC), in association with IT, E&C Departments, Govt of Telangana, and Salarpuria Sattva Knowledge City, inaugurated a 3-day IT Handloom Mela in the city at Salarpuria Sattva Knowledge City in Madhapur on Wednesday.
Chief Project Manager at Hyderabad Metro Rail Anand Mohan, Senior GM TJ Singh, facilities management professionals at Sattva Group Piyush, Nagaraj from Raheja, Praveen from Math Works and representatives from State Street and Zensar graced the inaugural function.
The mela will be held till October 18. IT professionals can utilise this opportunity to buy handloom clothes and wear them every Monday. It is open during office hours. The Mela has 12 stalls, such as Samaikya Society, The Wardrobe Collection, Pochampally Weavers Society and others.
It is featuring Gadwal, Pochampally, Siddipet, Ikkat Pattu sarees, handicraft products, handloom kurthas, jute bags, Kalamkari bed sheets, dress material, Mangalaguri cotton sarees, Kuppadam Patti sarees, dresses made from sarees and many others.
Handloom clothes are more comfortable than powerloom clothes. They are reliable, eco friendly and last long, said Aishwarya, an Engineer-turned-ethnic fabric promoter of The Wardrobe Collection. The mela, which is going close to IT employees, will enable them to visit, explore and purchase handloom clothes and start wearing them every Monday.
