Nampally: The 7-floor structure (with 2-floors in basement), the 'Garden View Wakf Mall' whose completion remained pending for a decade, will see the light of the day in the coming months.

It may be mentioned here that on October 1, The Hans India carried a news item '7-storeyed bldg remains incomplete for a decade', highlighting the neglect of a major project which remained in limbo for a decade, since the then Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy laid foundation stone in 2009.

It had also become a breeding ground for mosquitoes with the entire basement being inundated with rainwater. Infrastructure companies involved in major developmental projects are likely to be invited for bidding through 'proper tender process'.

Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali, TS Police Housing Corporation, Managing Director B Malla Reddy, along with TS Haj Committee chairman, Mohammed Masiullah Khan, TS Wakf Board chairman Mohammed Saleem and government chief whip M S Prabhakar Rao on Thursday held a meeting and also visited the site to explore possibilities of coming up with a grand structure with state-of-art amenities on a par with the ambitious twin-towers project that would house the Hyderabad Police Commissionerate and other offices at Road No 12 of Banjara Hills.

Speaking to media persons, Mahmood Ali said that the GHMC officials were already asked to clear the water filled underground. Later, a thorough process would be taken up by inviting estimate tenders for the building completion. "We hope that a company which has good engineers will take up this work in the open bidding. A state-of-art building will not only house offices related to minorities, but can also be leased to other government offices," he added.
