To generate funds, we are organizing "Sparsh Nite 2019, a Concert for a Cause" with singing legend Shankar Mahadevan on Friday, June 21 at Shilpakala Vedika in the city. Through this concert, which will be an annual affair, we hope to raise Rs 1 crore informed CEO Ram Mohan Rao. Last year S.P. Balasubrahmanyam performed at Sparsh Nite 2018.

Once the cancer is termed as 'Terminal', it means that the life of that patient will end soon, and no curative treatment is possible. Hence at this stage, it is deemed fit to concentrate on improving the quality of life and lessening the suffering rather than trying to prolong life with toxic treatments. This is the concept of 'palliative Care.' A hospice is a place where patients with terminal illnesses are provided palliative care.

The aim of this free palliative care is to help patients in the final stages of cancer to embrace death without regrets. A team of volunteers and doctors help ease the excruciating pain, anxiety, and depression that afflict patients, if not cure them completely.

"I appeal to the philanthropists, Celebrities, high profile individuals, socialites, humanitarians, fans of legend singer Shankar Mahadevan to come forward, buy donor passes and together we will help mitigate pain for the terminally ill cancer patients and their families and make a difference," added B Mallikarjun.
