A satirical play on today's politics
Samahaara workshop production is playing 'Aaj Ka Yamlok', a Hindi comedy play, written by Dr Kailash Chandra Sharma and directed by Sandeep Sahu, at Lamakaan, Road No 1, Banjara Hills on April 12.
The play 'Aaj Ka Yamlok' is a meaningful satire depicting the corruption that is taking a front seat in our contemporary society. If there is a law to understand gravity, there must be something to understand life as well, and this play explains 'the modern life' in a unique way.
'Yamraj' the God of death in his previous incarnation was a chief minister and all the officials of his 'Yamlok' were the citizens of his state. Not to mention they all indulged in corruption. Now in 'Yamlok' they dispose of their duties with the same 'earnestness'. Problems arise when God himself decides to inspect this Yamlok. How does this modern time Yamraj find his way out, let us sit back and discover.
