L B Nagar: ABVP called for a state-wide school bandh on June 28 demanding steps to solve the school education system issues. State ABVP joint secretary Marri Shravan Reddy said in a statement here on Thursday that the TRS government should immediately fill vacant posts of DEO and MEO, provide basic facilities in schools and introduce a legislation seeking to control school fees.

Reddy wanted every school to announce details of the fees collected and the parents' committees constituted at the mandal, district and state level. He said the Right to Education should be strictly implemented from this year itself and fitness of school buses should be ensured.

The ABVP leader demanded provision of playgrounds, laboratories and fire safety toilets in schools, filling of all vacant teacher posts and filing of criminal cases against schools being run without permission. Details of such cases should made public, he said.
