Addagutta to be made a model area

Secunderabad: Deputy Speaker T Padmarao Goud said that Addagutta Basti would be developed as model area in the twin cities. He said several development works, which had never been initiated in the locality, were launched within five years and would be completed soon.

He launched several development works in the Addagutta division on Wednesday. The Deputy Speaker inaugurated the construction works of children park with Rs 19 lakh in B Section and works on community halls in Venkat Nagar and Indiranagar.

He said Rs 2.25 crore was sanctioned for the multi-purpose function hall to be constructed in 900 square meters. Rao said steps were taken to provide infrastructure in Addagutta region and also to address water scarcity. In a record of sorts, 180 borewells were dug in last five years. Locals poured out their woes before the Deputy Speaker. He directed the officials to address the issues immediately.

The Deputy Speaker sanctioned Rs 23 lakh for improving supply of drinking water in the B Section. He also ordered the officials to take up repair works of streetlights, resolve the issue of open drain, change electrical polls and install CCTV cameras etc.

GHMC Zonal Commissioner Srinivas Reddy, Deputy Commissioner Ravikumar, MRO Sunil, corporators Vijayakumari, A Saraswathi, EE Pramodkumar, officials from the various departments and local leaders were present.
