AIDWA, SFI hold Bathukamma fete
Bagh Lingampally: All India Democratic Women's Association (AIDWA) and Student Federation of India jointly organised Bathukamma celebrations in front of Sundaraiah Vignana Kendra here on Tuesday. A large number of women and students participated in the celebrations.
Speaking on the occasion, state secretary of AIDWA Mallu Lakshmi said that Bathukamma festival represents Telangana culture and symbolizes women's association with nature. She urged women to strive for garnering respect, preserve local culture, fight violence and atrocities against women.
AIDWA leader Hemavathi and SFI leader Javed also spoke on the occasion. AIDWA state president Ashalatha, Aruna Jyothi, Naga Lakshmi, Shashikala, Vinoda, SFI leader Asmitha, Shruthi Priya, Navya, Naresh, Ramcharan and others participated in the celebrations.
