Ameenpur Municipal staff go on token strike
Patancheru: Employees of Ameenpur Municipality went on a token strike on Thursday, as part of the two-day agitation by the municipal workers across the State. Addressing the agitators, CITU district president Narsimha Reddy demanded the municipality officials to redress the grievances of the staff, including regularisation which has been pending for years.
While expressing anguish over the plight of the employees, Reddy said it was 'painful' that they faced an uncertain future, in the absence of regularisation, despite working for many years. He wanted the government to create all facilities for civic workers of new municipalities, as was done in the case of old bodies. Among those who took part in the agitation were CITU leaders Jayaram, Lakshmipathi, Rajender, Venkatamma, Lakshmi, many employees.
