Angry farmers throw tomatoes on roadside

Rajendranagar: At a time when tomatoes, a necessary part of staple food, is being sold for Rs 40 per kilo in the markets, farmers were seen dumping surplus veggies wayside on the roads, while returning homes from markets.

Farmers often throw surplus veggies on the wayside of the road, when they don't get suitable price for their produce. But this is a stark example of wasting veggies that too at a time when the prices of tomatoes are high in the markets. The Moinabad and surrounding areas are the only source of veggies that fulfill the demands of city markets these days.
