Anomalies in PR Secretary recruitment: Krishnaiah

Vidyanagar: Former MLA and BC leader R Krishnaiah alleged that irregularities were committed in the appointment of junior panchayat secretary. Several candidates belonging to SC, ST and BC were deprived of the opportunities, as reservations were not implemented as per norms, he alleged. He was speaking at a meeting of Panchayat secretary candidates here at BC Bhavan on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Krishnaiah said that notification was issued by the state government for the recruitment of 9,355 junior panchayat secretaries, and that the first list of candidates was announced recently. He alleged that several BC, SC and ST candidates who appeared in the first list and eligible for appointments in open category were allotted posts in reserved category.

As a result, several candidates were deprived of opportunities, he alleged. While announcing second list, the total number of candidates under reservation needed to be calculated, but it was not done, he said. Krishnaiah demanded a comprehensive investigation on the irregularities and urged do justice to the candidates who lost the opportunities.

The meeting presided by BC leader Gujja Krishna, was attended by Vemula Ramakrishna, Tirumalagiri, Ashok Vikram, Shankar, Shiva, Jayanthi, Mamatha and Panchayat secretary candidates from various districts.
