Appoint hostel welfare officers: R Krishnaiah

Basheerbagh: BC Welfare Association national president R Krishnaiah on Thursday demanded that the state government give postings to the candidates selected for hostel welfare officer posts. He was speaking at a meeting organided by the candidates who were selected for the posts here at Press Club on Thursday. R Krishnaiah was invited as the chief guest of the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, R Krishnaiah condemned the delay in issuing posting orders to the candidates who had been selected for hostel welfare officer posts although there were no legal hurdles, unlike those for other posts. He alleged that Telangana Public Service Commission has been deliberately delaying issue of posting orders. He said that hostel students were facing severe inconvenience as 1,200 hostel welfare officer posts had been lying vacant.

Krishnaiah demanded that the state government issue notifications for filling vacant posts various groups. About 1,200 in Group 1, 3,000 in Group 2, 8,000 in Group 3 and 38,000 junior assistant posts in Group 4 are lying vacant and needed to be filled, he added. Also, there are about 2.5 lakh posts are vacant in various government departments, he said.

Among those who attended the meeting were BC leaders Gujja Krishna, Neela Venkatesh, selected candidates' association president Gundagani Ranganath, Bhupesh Sagar, Kunuru Narsimha Goud, Ramgopal Reddy, Nandini, Mahender Reddy, Pagilla Satish, Gajendra, Shivashankar, Naseeruddin and others.
