Bagh Lingampally: Bus fare hike rollback demanded

Bagh Lingampally: Demanding withdrawal of RTC bus charges, activists of AIDWA, DYFI and SFI staged protest here in front of Sundaraiah Vignana Kendram on Thursday. SFI state leader Nagaraju, DYFI state secretary Vijay, AIDWA city president K Nagalakshmi, secretary Arunajyothi and others participated in the protest.

Speaking on the occasion, SFI leader Nagaraju demanded that the state government withdraw bus charge hike with immediate effect. He said that state government had imposed severe burden on people on the pretext of losses to RTC. While it was the responsibility of the state government to protect RTC and ensure safe and affordable transport, the state government had shirked off its responsibility, he said.

He alleged that the KCR government was conspiring to privatise RTC and expressed his fears that price hike was a part of the conspiracy. He warned the state government of state-wide agitation if the decision was not withdrawn.

SSA city president Ashok, secretary Javed, DYFI district secretary Mahender, AIDWA leaders Bhavani, Shabana, Vimala and others participated in the protest.
