Bandi takes a dig at AP leaders joining BRS

Update: 2023-01-04 00:20 IST

Hyderabad: State BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Tuesday asked how the BRS which has no national president could appoint the party president of Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing the media here, he took a dig at the recent joining from the neighbouring AP in BRS and said "the leaders admitted in BRS from AP were fetched in cabs to showcase the joining from that State."

"It is a paradox that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who had earlier insulted people of Andhra Pradesh, is now talking about development of AP.

He charged that traders from Andhra Pradesh were not peacefully conducting their business in Telangana as KCR tried to stoke Telaqngana sentiment and his rhetoric was to woo people of AP.

Bandi said people in State are facing trouble because of the hasty decisions of KCR and asked to show where the government is providing 24-hour power supply. He reiterated that the government has drowned the power utilities of Rs 60,000 crore in the name of free power. "While free current is provided to agriculture fields, the residential power tariff has been hiked burning the pockets of people."

"The State had to forgo its rightful share in the Krishna waters and a revenue surplus State at the time of bifurcation was now not in a position even to pay salaries to its employees and pushing Telangana into debt trap."

"Telangana stands fourth in farmer suicides, and last in school education. The increase in crimes against women by 17 per cent shows the progress of the government", he rued.

Expressing doubt as to what the government was doing with Rs 44,000 crore liquor revenue, he asked why it was not clearing fee reimbursement dues and paying unemployment allowance?

Bandi recalled how the CM insulted people of AP calling biryani tastes like cow dung and traditional recipes like Ulavacharu consumed by cattle in Telangana. He said KCR would not bother about people of AP once he got their votes in elections.

Taking a dig at CM's logic of China Bazaars in the country, he said Bharat Bazaar would be located in other countries. Will there be Bharat Bazaars in India and Telangana Bazaars in Telangana?, the BJP leader south to know.

Dismissing KCR's rhetoric at AP leaders joining BRS, the TS BJP chief said, "the CM was only hoodwinking people to cheat people of AP." The country has grown from a defence importer to an exporter and it has provided Covid vaccines to different countries around the world. People of Telangana want to a change in State; BJP coming to power is a forgone conclusion.
