Banjara Hills: Plea to fix streetlights

Update: 2019-12-02 00:04 IST

Banjara Hills: Around 70 to 100 complaints are being received everyday regarding the poor condition of streetlights and 250 to 300 complaints across Hyderabad.

Commuters and residents of Aurora Colony are facing regular hardships due to dysfunctional street lights in the street. Improper illumination is also causing accidents in the late night, say residents. Some residents say they are carrying torch lights while coming out in the Colony.

Speaking on improper illumination, Rama Chary, Assistant Engineer, Banjara Hills, said "Around 16,000 streetlights installed in the Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills division. Every day we receive 60 to 70 complaints from the residents and we always try to solve the issue in a day. Aurora Colony residents lodged complaints with us regarding the dysfunctional streetlights in the street. I promise to fix them in a single day."
