BC bodies to felicitate newly appointed Governors
Nampally: BC associations thanked President Ramnath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for appointing BC leaders as Governors.
This was stated by BC leader Jajula Srinivas at a preparatory meeting for felicitation of newly appointed Governors of Himachal Pradesh and Telangana Bandaru Dattatreya and Tamilsai Soundaryarajan, respectively. Apart from BC Welfare Association leaders, Justice Eshwaraiah and leaders of MBC and tribal associations participated in the meeting.
Speaking to media after the meeting, Jajula Srinivas said that felicitation of Bandaru Dattatreya and Tamilsai Soudaryarajan would be conducted at Ravindra Bharathi on September 14. He thanked the President and the Prime Minister for appointing BC leaders as Governors.
Criticising the TRS government, he alleged that the state government did injustice to BCs in recent cabinet allocations and budget. He said the budget cut funds to welfare by 48 per cent and the CM kept aside recommendations of ministers committee report on 700 aspects of BC welfare.
Slamming the cut in fund allocations to BC welfare on the pretext of impending recession, he questioned how the state government was going ahead with plans to construct new Secretariat, Assembly and High Court buildings.
He said prominent BC, SC and ST leaders such as Jogu Ramanna, Swamy Goud, Shankaramma and Rajaiah were kept aside and the Madiga community was not even represented in the cabinet. While the BCs deserve about nine ministerial berths, the cabinet only had four BCs, he lamented. He warned the state government of serious consequences if BCs continued to be ignored.
Among those who present were president of city MBC Bangaru Narsimha, migratory tribes association president Kola Srinivas, Venkata Ramana, Ambala Narayana, Shaik Sattar and others.
