BC leaders lay siege to BC Samkshema Bhavan
Musheerabad: National president of BC Association R Krishnaiah demanded the state government to regularise services of employees working in various government BC, SC and ST hostels. On Tuesday, hostel employees of various hostel, supported by BC leaders, laid siege to BC Samkshema Bhavan demanding regularisation of their services.
Speaking on the occasion, R Krishnaiah demanded the state government to regularise the services of outsourced employees working hostels, as most of them have been working for last ten years. While the outsourced employees in electricity and other departments were regularised, why can't be hostel workers be regularised, he questioned. Stating that hostel workers have huge workload and work from 5 am in the morning to 8 pm, he said.
As most of them have reached their retirement ages, they cannot get employment anywhere, he said. He demanded to apply 'equal work, equal pay' as ruled by the Supreme Court and regularise their services.
Among those who participated in the protest include BC leaders Gujja Krishna, G Anji, Vemula Ramakrishna, Krishna Yadav, Anathaiah, president of hostel contract and outsourcing workers union Chandrashekhar, Narsimha Naik, Jayanthi and others.
