Bihar jail officials visit Cherlapally prison

Cherlapally: A team of jail officials from Bihar visited Cherlapally Central Jail on Wednesday. Jail supervisor M Sampath said that the jail was inspirational to other jails because of various initiatives taken up by the jail to reform prisoners and encourage them to learn various skills to imbibe confidence in them. The team was shown the agriculture field and lawns on the premises maintained by the jail inmates.

The visitors were informed about the various schemes like Vidyadan Yojana, employment generation, education and medical facilities available in the jail. The dining hall, factory, library, Ambedkar distance education centre, phone facility and E-Mulakhat have been emulated by other jails, Sampath said.

The visitors evinced interest in various initiatives taken up at the jail and said, that they would implement the successful initiatives in their State. Jail supervisor Dasharathrami Reddy, deputy supervisors Sammaiah, Dasharatham, jailors Ramakrishna, Devisingh, Mogilesh, Jyothishwar and others were present.
