Hyderabad: Promising to protect the interests of all people in the city, TRS working president and Municipal Minister K T Rama Rao on Saturday urged them to bless the party in the GHMC polls for committed development.

The Minister addressed a meeting of business communities in the city at Hotel Marigold and urged their support to continue development, and teach a lesson against divisive policies of the opposition parties.

The Minister took serious exception to the BJP and the Congress gimmicks to gain in the polls. "Though there were apprehensions when we came to power, within six months power crisis and water problems were addressed. Kiran Kumar Reddy government created panic on power, water, problem to business community, ruling and law and order. However, within no time, the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao, has tide over all the issues by addressing them in a systematic manner," the Minister clarified.

The TRS has addressed various issues of power, water, welfare and others and on fast growth trajectory, he said, adding that the BJP and the Congress were coming in the way of development. "The KCR government ensures protection, security to people of all States and multiple businesses to flourish," he said. The Minister dared the opposition parties to try to disturb peace and face action. "Ours is a city of cosmopolitan culture and the government is for their complete protection to follow traditions. We have been implementing different welfare schemes to help poor and all destitute sections, farmers, women and students," he added.

The Minister said that nalas to be expanded to prevent the recurrence of floods in the city. "Our focus is to remove all encroachments and take cognizance of people to ensure peace. The Centre denied funds to flood victims in the city and the BJP is trying to misguide people," KT Rama Rao added.

He expressed surprise as to why many central ministers were coming to seek votes despite denial of funds for flood victims and for city development? The BJP raking up communal issues and spreading hatred during the polls, the Minister said. "Why talk of Rohingyas and others of overstaying after giving them voter cards and Aadhaar cards? he asked.

"Kishan Reddy talks of city development though money was denied by the Centre. The people did not get help from the Centre in spite of Rs 20 lakh crore package announced. After taking Rs 2.72 lakh crore from the State, the Centre gave only Rs 1.40 lakh crore," KTR said. Note ban and GST in BJP rule have devastated the national economy, he charged.
