BJP Mahila Morcha complains to State Human Rights Commission
Nampally: The BJP Mahila Morcha on Thursday lodged a complaint with the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) demanding a comprehensive inquiry into the 'disappearance' of hundreds of women in Telangana after the TRS came to power.
Leaders of the morcha in the complaint alleged that the State government and the police department were 'indifferent' to tracing the missing women. The leaders alleged that the police had 'totally failed' in the missing cases of children in Yadagirigutta and the rape-murder of minor girls in Hajipur. They claimed that members of the families of missing persons were 'humiliated' when they went to lodge police complaints.
The morcha demanded setting up of the State-level Women's Commission and appointment of chairman for the SHRC. Women's wing official spokesperson Madhavi told the media that the morcha would write to the Centre on the issues raised in the complaint lodged with the SHRC.
