Bolarum: The South Central Railways (SCR) plans to begin re-development work of the Bolarum Bazar station very soon. Being the halt station, it has not properly been developed, as there is no building, no proper parking shed. Also, the platforms are very narrow. Keeping in the mind the needs of differently-abled persons, necessary amenities are to be included in work.

"This is a halt station. Nearly 10 pairs of passenger trains halt over here on demand of locals. The Railways planned to re-develop the station by providing all basic amenities for the benefit of the public. A 230 sqm new station building would be built.

The works include a booking office, a counter for Divyang (persons with disabilities), washrooms and concourse. Also planned are a parking shed for two-wheelers and four-wheelers, circulating area, Divyang parking and drinking water facilities at platforms and also in the station building," said CH Rakesh, CPRO, SCR.

"Also we plan to widen the platforms to accommodate passenger trains entering the station. As the station platform is only 5 metre wide, both platforms 1 and 2 would be extended by 40 metres," he added.

The total estimated cost of re-modelling the station is Rs 1.2 crore. Shortly, work would commence. The railway plans to complete it within a year. Bolarum Bazar Station is located on the Manmad-Kachiguda section. The Macha Bolarum station has two platforms, two tracks (up line and down line). It is a halt station for nearly 10 passenger trains a day. But, hardly 30 passengers use the services.
