Brahmins told to move ahead in business, politics
Hyderabad: Deputy Speaker of Andhra Pradesh State Assembly Kona Raghupathi on Friday advised Brahmins to move ahead in business and political fields. Addressing a Brahmin business network meeting under the chairmanship of Telangana government representative in New Delhi S Venugopalachary, here, he stated that the credit for giving due place to Brahmins in two Telugu States should go to Chief Ministers K Chandrasekhar Rao and Y S Jaganmohan Reddy. He pledged his support for Brahmins to move ahead in business and political fields, while recalling his efforts to become a successful businessman with an investment of only Rs 5,000.
K V Ramanachary, Adviser to Telangana government, praised KCR for launching a corporation for Brahmins with a capital of Rs 100 crore. The corporation, he said, was providing subsidy to those with an annual income of less than Rs 2 lakh.
Vijayawada Central MLA Malladi Vishnu recalled the efforts by former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy for giving a prime place to Brahmins during his regime. Among those present were MLA D Sridhar Babu, Brahmana Parishad Federation vice-president Cherukucharla Raghuramayya, MLC Ramchandar Rao.
