Bright nights ahead for Jubilee Hills Circle

Jubilee Hills: Poor illumination on the roads of the Banjara Hills is every alternate day issue. To end this problem once and for all, the GHMC has decided to install 220 new poles in the Jubilee Hills Circle.

Banjara Hills Road No. 10 which has streetlights only on one side of the stretch will get central lighting for the entire road with 83 new poles with a central lighting system installing 166 new lights.

On the Banjara Hills Road No.1, at JVR Park, there are no streetlights for a long distance and at road turnings. They will shall be covered with around 10 new poles with 20 lights.

KBR walkway has no streetlights so far. After receiving several complaints over the issue, GHMC has agreed to install 38 new streetlights on the walkway of the KBR Park which starts from the left side of the main gate to the Filmnagar main road.

On the illumination issues in the Jubliee Hills from Nagarjuna circle to Filmnagar Circle, S V Ramana Chary, Assistant Engineer, GHMC, Banjara Hills, said, "Apart from 60 to 70 complaints being received every day, we also identified two main roads Banjara Hills Road No 10 and Banjara Hills Road No1 along with a KBR walkway. Installation works are started in Banjara Hills and would be completed in two to three weeks."

Commuters and residents of Jubilee Hills are expressing happiness over installation of new streetlight poles after several complaints. Around 70 to 100 complaints were being received everyday regarding the poor condition of street lights in Banjara Hills and 250 to 300 complaints across Hyderabad.
