Building approvals made convenient for applicants
Hyderabad: To simplify the application process for obtaining building permissions to the people in city, The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has launched a single window system for multi-storey buildings.
In a recent meeting held at GHMC headquarters with builders, architects and other officials of Revenue and Fire Services Departments, Commissioner M Dana Kishore said that the newly introduced system rules out the need for applicants to run from post to pillar to obtain a no objection certificate (NOC) to get permission for their buildings.
The GHMC officials said that in the previous process, it was incumbent upon the applicant to obtain NOCs from Revenue, Irrigation, Fire, and other departments, and submit them online through Development Permission Management System (DPMS).
It was a time taking process and builders have to wait for a long time to get the permissions from all the departments. However, now with the help of the single window system, the applicants seeking permission for building a multi-storied building needs to fill up a common application form online through DPMS.
The online system will be directly linked to other departments in question from where NOCs have to be obtained, said officials. The commissioner said in the meeting that the common building application through single window will benefit big builders. State government is thinking over more reforms to simplify the application process for getting building permissions as soon as possible without any delays.
A proposal for issue of permission through mere self declaration if the site area is below 200 square yards is pending with the government, the commissioner said in the meeting.
