Call for top priority to education of tribals
Osmania University: Telangana Universities Tribal Teachers Association (TUTTA) organised one-day seminar on issues and challenges of tribals in Telangana here on Wednesday. Former MP Seetharam Naik was the chief guest. He said there are about 30 lakh tribals in the state. Education is important for their development and uplift. "There is a need for increase in the number of schools.
The government should set up residential colleges near tribal villages," he advised, and also demanded that the government establish a special central university for tribals.TUTTA president Redya Naik, general secretary Bheema Naik, Prof SuryaDanunjay, Prof Battu Ramesh, Prof Ramana Naik, Prof Srinu Naik and others were present.
