Call to pay property tax in time

Malkajgiri: GHMC deputy commissioner for Malkajgiri circle held a meeting with bill collectors and tax inspectors to review the property tax collections in the circle here at GHMC office on Friday.

Speaking after the meeting, Dasharath said that Rs 24.51 crore were collected so far out of the total property tax of Rs 47.64 crore for the current financial year. He instructed bill collectors to take measures to collect the pending taxes before the last date.

He warned that legal action would be initiated against those who do not pay their property taxes before the last date. Businessmen who are yet to pay their trade license fee are warned that their trade licences would be cancelled if they fail to pay the fee before the last date.

He appealed to the public to cooperate with GHMC in developing the circle by paying their taxes in time. Valuation officer Suresh Kumar, tax inspectors, bill collectors and property tax officials participated in the meeting.
