Careless dumping of garbage causes stink

Update: 2019-05-13 02:08 IST

Patancheru: The town is stinking following dumping of garbage carelessly in the absence of a proper dump yard. With moulds of garbage and filth all along the national highway road-users are having a tough time travelling in the thoroughfares.

With residents of colonies in divisions 111 and 112 adjacent to the national highway throwing their garbage areas like Ramachandrapuram and Ashoknagar are generating unbearable stink, resulting in local people falling sick.

Added to this problem is lack of road repairs and digging of CC roads for laying underground drainage. None seems to be bothered about filling up the dug roads and repairing the potholes.

Residents of Ashoknagar, Srinivasnagar Colony, Bombay Colony complained to The Hans India that because of the deplorable road conditions ambulances have not been able to reach ESI Hospital. Virtually every lane has such poor roads. As a result even two-wheeler users are finding it difficult to travel on such roads.

When THI took the issue of poor condition of roads to the notice of circle 113 Deputy Commissioner Balayya, he said land for locating a dump yard for Patancheru industrial area has been secured. Plan to shift garbage has been prepared. Work has been taken up to repair the dug up roads for laying underground drainage.
