Case booked against late actor's son
Hyderabad: The Banjara Hills police on Thursday registered a case against Karthik Prasad, son of actor late Ahuti Prasad. A complaint was lodged against Karthik by one person stating that he was not standing during the national anthem before the movie screened. The incident occurred when he went to watch the movie Hippi on Thursday in PVR RK Cineplex in Banjara Hills.
The complainant further alleged that when the fellow audiences including him questioned him, Karthik Prasad reportedly started abusing which led to an argument. On the other hand, Karthik Prasad told the police that due to personal problems he was unable to stand up and when fellow audience abused, he lost patience and retaliated. Based on the complaint, Banjara Hills police registered a case and took up investigation.
Earlier, cases were booked against two youngsters for not standing up during the national anthem at a multiplex in Kachiguda. In another incident in Rajendranagar, a theatre management filed a complaint against three Jammu and Kashmir students by alleging that they did not stand up during the national anthem. The Supreme Court directed that cinema halls across the country must play the national anthem before the screening of a film and people should stand up as a mark of respect.
