Centre will protect geo-heritage sites
Necklace Road: If we love nature it would bless us. Development does not mean constructing roads and skyways, it also means protecting the earth and its heritage too.
Saying so, G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of State for Home assured that the Central government would extend all the possible help to protect geo-heritage sites in the country. He was speaking as the chief guest at 'Save our geo- heritage' sites in India, an event organised by the Society of Earth Scientists (SES), Save Rocks, and Geo Club of Geological Survey of India, at Necklace Road on Sunday.
About 500 geo-scientists including professors, research scholars and students participated. He also pointed out that Jammu and Kashmir would take a turn towards the development of tourism and protect the geo-heritage sites by resolving the law and order issues in the future. He congratulated and appreciated the event organisers for the grand success.
Senior scientists from GSI, NGRI, AMD, CGWB, state government department of mines and geology including professors, research scholars and students participated in the event.
Ex-Director General of Geological Survey of India (GSI), Kutumba Rao, CH Venkateshwar Roa , DDG & HOD, GSITI and other senior DDG's of GSI, Dr SC Tripathi, SK Tripathi, Rajendra Nagar, Directors and organizers Ramesh Gunda, Dr Ramesh Guguloth, Venkanna, Gowtham, Kishore Deshmukh, Sushil, BJP and TRS leaders Kadiyam Raju, Thuga Balu , Ramakrishna, and Satish were present.
