Chandrayangutta; AIMIM membership gets overwhelming response
Chandrayangutta: As part of its expansion strategy, the All India Majlis Inquilab-e-Millat (AIMIM) organised yet another membership drive, third in a row this month, drawing a huge number of youth and women folk into party fold at Chandrayangutta Cross Roads on Saturday.
The drive saw over 1,400 new members enrolling their names with the party and a majority of them comprised youngsters and educated youth beside a significant number of womenfolk from surrounding area.
In a candid chat with The Hans India, AIMIM president Moulana Syed Tariq Quadri said, "We are completely surprised with the queries of youth approaching us and were keen to offer their voluntary services for the party as if they were fed up with the prevailing political system."
"Among the 1,417 new members, 150 are college-going students while the remaining are male and female residents from surrounding areas. Many of the youngsters showed their anguish against forcing illiterate leaders onto the community and said that forming a platform of educated and wise leaders was the need of the hour," said senior party leader, advocate MA Qavi Abbasi.
In the last three membership drives, the party succeeded in enrolling a total of 2,967 members into the party fold which was above and beyond the party expectations. The number of enrollments was 750 at Charminar Bus Depot, 800 at Darulshifa Ground and 1,417 at Chandrayangutta as off now, he added.
"We are getting the same response from well off people who are offering logistic support to the party and are even providing us with their best advices, informed AIMIM general secretary Quddu Ghori.
