CITU holds workers rally in support of RTC strike

Patancheru: The State CITU secretary J Mallikarjun claimed here on Thursday that there were doubts among the people whether there was a government in the State or not, as officials were even misleading the High Court.

Addressing a rally of workers to extend solidarity with RTC employees, whose strike entered 34th day, he expressed distress over the administration's indifference to the hardships of people, particularly students, workers and employees on account of the strike.

'This indicated the lack of commitment towards people's problems. The CITU leader demanded immediate holding of talks with the RTC employees so as to end the strike. He pointed out that opposition parties, trade unions, intellectuals, and 'Sakalajanula RTC workers' were backing the strike. The government should give up its adamant attitude and hold talks leading to calling off the strike.

Among those present during the rally were CITU State Committee members Panduranga Reddy, district unit vice-president Narsimha Reddy, Nageswar Rao, Sudhakar, Srinivas, Riyaz, Pradeep, Anjaneyulu.
