Clearing garbage on market premises a challenge

Yousufguda: In the absence of a proper garbage management system, especially during Sunday markets, residents are anxious about hygiene on the market premises.

Managing cleanliness in the market will be a challenge, if the GHMC does not address the situation at the earliest, as the market generates tones of garbage every week and the quantity doubles during festive season.

Responding on the issue of garbage left unattended on roads, a vendor stated that it not only poses health risks, but also drives away customers from the market. SK Nadeem, a resident of Yousufguda, said that the un-removed garbage was becoming a major problem every week. Garbage was being dumped just on the roads and not cleared until the next day, he lamented.
