Close shave for 120 kids as buses collide
Patancheru: About 120 students on Monday had a lucky escape when two buses belonging to different schools were involved in a collision near Janakampet. None was injured.
However, the parents spent anxious moments as 70 students on one bus and 50 in another belonging to Krishnaveni and Sai Public school were involved in the mishap near a turning.
It was caused by the negligent action of over-speeding of a driver. Some parents told The Hans India that they faced both hardship and inconvenience when auto drivers without holding the licence were made to drive buses and forced to discharge such duty accommodating 75 students in place of 50 and resorting to over-speeding.
The parents alleged that several complaints to schools and also the MEO on the issue fell on deaf ears. They wanted the RTA to identify the drivers doing duty without licences and seize such school buses.
