Collector M Hanumanth Rao warns against neglect of saplings
Patancheru: Sanga Reddy District Collector M Hanumanth Rao on Wednesday warned of stern measures if there is negligent attitude on the part of officials in raising of saplings in nurseries, which form part of the Haritha Haram. He even said he would resort to suspensions if there is no progress in the growth of saplings.

Carrying out surprise inspection of a nursery in Pocharam village in Patancheru mandal, Rao expressed anger over the use of black soil in nurseries instead of red soil. He instructed MPDOs to undertake reviews on the progress of nurseries. He issued show-cause a notice to the Gram Panchayat secretary Mahesh after noticing that there was no progress in the growth of saplings and lack of full plantations.
The Collector stated that any negligent attitude by the staff in nurseries taken up as part of the prestigious Haritha Haram programme would not be tolerated, irrespective of the post of the person.
Rao said he would be inspecting a nursery on a daily basis, and laid stress on the use of red soil in plastic covers for raising saplings. The Collector that he would visit the nursery again after 15 days. 'If there is no full growth of the saplings, the Panchayat Secretary would be suspended," he sternly said.
