Colloquium on history of South India in Oct

Hyderabad: In order to facilitate a platform for rigorous academic as well as popular endeavours on regional historiography in India, the Centre for Educational Research and Training (CERT) is organising various Regional History colloquia and history-related public programmes with the tagline, 'Remembering Histories, Asserting Identities.' As part of this series on histories, the South India History Colloquium will be held here on October 13-14.

CERT invited papers for themes, Critical Analyses on Historiography of India: In Search of an Alternative Research Methodology; Centrist Approaches in Historiography: Invisibilization and Otherization of Communities; De-constructing the Division: 'Indic versus Non-Indic' in Historical Discourses; Narrating the Local: Histories of People and Lands; Hegemony and Appropriation: Redefining the Past; Debating Religious Conversion: Emancipation and Community Empowerment; Annihilation of Caste: Trajectories of Anti-Caste Movements; Histories of Dissent: State, Development and Adivasi Assertions; Domination, Displacement and Disappearance: Surveying Subjugation and Marginalization; Colonialism, Communities and Nation-state: Engagements and Resistance; Formation of Indian Union and Annexations and Federal State Formations and Linguistic Nationalism.

The last date for submission of abstracts is September 25 and notification of Acceptance is September 30. The last date for submission of full papers is October 10. Interested candidates can send their abstracts to submissions@ustories.in. For more information, they can visit www.ustories.in.
