Commuters fume as road works delayed
Kukatpally: The residents of Venkat Rao Nagar have been facing inconvenience from the damaged roads from the last 3 weeks. The government contractors dug up the old road here to lay a new one. But, the work has not been progressing since then. As this is the main way to travel from Kukatpally to Jagathgirigutta, the commuters and residents have been facing severe problems.
Pentaiah, a tea shop owner said," the contractors dug up the old road to lay a new road, but there has been no progress in the work from the last 3 weeks. My tea shop is in the middle of the road, but due to damage of the road, commuters are not coming this way. The roads here are in terrible condition they have not been repaired for quite some time. "
"We have tried to bring the issue to the notice of authorities concerned, however all our efforts have gone in vain. We hope the authorities address the issue as soon as possible" said Chote Miya, a resident of Venkat Rao Nagar.
Because of the delay in the laying of roads, traffic jams have been happening in the peak hours. Nageshwar Rao, an auto driver, said, "We travel from Kukatpally to Jagathgirigutta with passengers every day, and it is difficult for us to travel through the road. So, we are taking long turns from another side. We request the authorities concerned to complete the road."
