Malkajgiri: Local Congress leaders and activists led by the in-charge of constituency, Nandikanti Sridhar, staged a protest at collectorate, in response to the call given by AICC to lay siege to collectorates nationwide, in protest against the anti-people and the economic policies of central and state governments.

Sridhar said people were facing severe hardships due to the wrong economic policies of the state and the central governments. He alleged that GDP growth, which was around 10 % when the UPA was in power had drastically come down to 2-3%, due to hasty and improper decisions of PM Narendra Modi.

Most of financial decisions taken by Modi favour corporate companies, while common people undergo suffer due to current economic conditions, he alleged. He also flayed the government's failure to attract foreign investments and for ineffective implementation of GST.

The wrong decisions with regard to GST resulted in closure of many small industries apart from affecting sectors such as automobile, textile and real estate, he said. Compounding the problem, CM KCR made the state heavily debt-ridden. People were vexed with adamant attitude of the CM as he had not called striking RTC employees for talks, although they had been on strike for over 33 days, he said.

He expressed hope that people would teach both PM and CM a befitting lesson. Congress division president V Srinivas Goud, Chako, Antony, Venkatesh Yadav, Naresh, Vamshi Mudhiraj, Vinod Yadav, Asha and others were present on the occasion.
