Congress wins in AS Rao Nagar, first victory in GHMC election

Congress candidate Sirisha Reddy won from AS Rao Nagar making the party's first victory in GHMC election. At the end of the first round, TRS is leading in 66 divisions, AIMIM in 30, BJP in five divisions and Congress in two.

AIMIM bagged three divisions - Mehdipatnam, Ramnaspura, Doodhbowli. Former Mayor Masid Hussain won with a majority of 5,483 votes from Mehdipatnam. Mohammad Khadir from Ramnaspura, Mohammad Saleem from Doodhbowli. So far, TRS won from Yousufguda, Mettuguda and RC Puram.

TRS candidates R Sunitha won from Mettuguda, Raj Kumar Patel from Yousufguda and Pushpa Ganesh from RC Puram. Pushpa Ganesh won with a majority of 5,759 votes against BJP candidate Narsingh Goud.
